Joey’s journey began two months before his expected birth, arriving into the world as a premature baby in an incubator. This early experience gave him heightened sensitivity to human connection and the unseen aspects of life. As he grew, he became a safe haven for others, drawn to those who felt unseen, unheard, or unloved. He naturally stepped into a leadership role at an early age, mentoring and supporting others with effortless devotion and with true presence. For many years this was his calling, woven into every aspect of his being.
However, when later on he moved to Amsterdam, he began slowly disconnecting from his heart. Financial pressure, self-comparison, and external validation became his new measures of success. After a series of painful experiences, his heart closed, and his self-worth diminished. He mistakenly believed he had to ‘fix’ himself before being worthy of love and connection. But life’s true invitation was not about performing—it was about remembering.
Through years of tantra, ecstatic dance, and plant medicine, Joey found his journey back to himself. These practices helped him shed layers of limiting beliefs and reclaim his true essence. He reawakened to the truth that love is not something to be earned—it is our natural state. Vulnerability, presence, and deep self-awareness became the pillars of his return. His vision of life became clear again. Guided by his mentor, Alessandro di Benedetto, Joey stepped fully back into his mission with conscious awareness. Now, as a facilitator with the Tantra School of Love, he supports others on their path to liberation. Together with his partner Fieke Verhaegh, he creates spaces where love, freedom, and embodiment thrive.
Their relationship is his most powerful source of empowerment. Through sacred intimacy, emotional depth, and conscious connection, they embody authenticity, deep presence and unconditional love. To live in such a relationship—and to share this work with the world—is a profoundly fulfilling experience. Joey’s life is again a seamless expression of his soul’s calling, an invitation for others to return to their true nature.
